WAR BAM TB
Miss Patti Bee
A well bred Appaloosa Mare
Bred By: Wesley C. Hadley
~ A long time old horsemen ~
Came by to visit Wes Hadley at his home in Maple Valley one day. We seen Miss Patti Bee in the turn out, she was nice well built. I asked Wes if she was for sale he said only as a brood mare. Because she is not good for anything else, she is a handful and not trustworthy to ride. She is as mean as they come.
By the end of our visit we were paying for this mare, and had all intension of being able to ride and breed her.
Wes droped her off at our home and Johnathen lead her to the pasture were he removed her halter. Wes responded " You should not have done that John, you will play hell getting it back on her. But you'll have to catch her first ." He wished us good luck and left. Johnathen started to walk up to her then she took off, Johnathen then just stood there waiting for her. Soon she came to him, there was no one else she knew. This was all new to her, the smells and sounds not like her home before.
So she came to Johnathen.
Few weeks later he was on her back.

On  8/26/1971, Jet Deck was found dead in his paddock the result of an overdose of barbiturates. The killers were never found.

We have always had the best luck with animals of all kinds.
Got to admit before I get up onto a horse that has never been rode, I would take a shot or two of whisky!
Here it is, as crazy as it sounds these two new mares just green broke.
Only Johnathen and I would be caught on two green broke mares at the ocean. Johnathen and I only had a few weeks to get these girls ready for a two week west port vacation. Wes Hadley told us we would never be able to ride Miss Patti she would only be good for a brood mare.
We proved that wrong!
Sometimes all it takes is the genital hand some time for trust and love.
This is some photos of Miss Patti and her first bath
Johnathen drying off Patti after the bath Guess if we could never ride her we should not even try to clean her.
NOT!
Turned out to be a great horse and produced us a wonderful foal
